Bartell Drugs began in Seattle, WA in 1890 when a roguish 21-year-old pharmacist named George H. Bartell Sr. purchased a small pharmacy in Seattle’s Central District. From there, he built his business from a foundation of exceptional customer service, providing a personalized pharmacy experience, and offering innovative products and services. This combination allowed Bartell, his children, and grandchildren to successfully grow and shape the business to the 41 stores and pharmacy locations it is today.
